2026 Congressional App Challenge

My Georgia Assistant

Two web apps built by Ethan Haugabrook, a junior at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, for Georgia's 8th Congressional District. Both take a task that normally means waiting on hold or searching through jargon, and let you just describe the problem in your own words.

Document and Form Assistant

Government forms, filled out by talking

Applying for assistance usually means a long form full of terms most people have never had explained to them. This assistant asks plain questions out loud, fills the form in as you answer, and explains any field you ask about.

  • Answer by voice and watch the form fill itself in
  • Ask what a field means at any point
  • Upload a license or an earlier application and have the details read in

FixMyPC

Computer error codes, in plain English

A stop code like 0xc000000f tells you nothing useful, and searching it returns a wall of forum posts. Type the code, or just describe what the computer is doing, and get an explanation of what it means along with the steps to fix it.

  • Search by error code or by describing the symptom
  • Covers no display, blue screens, overheating and power failures
  • Written for people who are not technicians

About the creator

Ethan Haugabrook is a junior at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia, and is competing in the 2026 Congressional App Challenge in Georgia's 8th Congressional District.

Both apps here come from the same observation: the people who most need a service are often the ones least served by how it is presented to them. A benefits form assumes you already know what its fields mean. An error code assumes you can read it. Each app removes that assumption and lets someone describe the problem the way they would to a person.
